Preview: Center Hill Mustangs vs. Hutchison Sting
The Center Hill Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hutchison Sting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Center Hill waltzed into Tuesday's game with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Southaven 66-43. Considering Center Hill has won four contests by more than 22 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Center Hill had a senior duo take command as Zarria Shipp scored 24 points along with 7 rebounds and Jairya Rankins dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Rankins' third in a row with at least ten points. Ariel Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Meanwhile, Hutchison came up short against Whitehaven last Tuesday and fell 62-55.
Center Hill's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.33 points. As for Hutchison, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Center Hill was able to grind out a solid win over Hutchison when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 69-61. Does Center Hill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hutchison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
