Baseball Recap: Wapakoneta Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wapakoneta couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 4-0 to the University School Preppers on Friday. The shutout was out of character for the Redskins seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in May.

Wapakoneta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Jolly, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Wapakoneta moved to 21-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for University School, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-6 record this season.

Wapakoneta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University School, they will take on Licking Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Preppers 2.7, the Panthers 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
