Volleyball Recap: Alvin Yellowjackets vs. Shadow Creek Sharks

After flying high against Pasadena Memorial on Friday, Alvin came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Shadow Creek Sharks on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Sharks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Alvin took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-16.

Payton Ashley paced Alvin's offense, picking up three kills. Ashley got some help from Cloyee Jones and her five assists. Finally, Ashley was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Shadow Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauryn Wiley out in front who had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Wiley has posted over her last five contests.
