Newman AA has gone 9-1 against Varsity Opponent recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Sunday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Newman AA is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Wednesday. They put the hurt on MacDuffie with a sharp 100-78 win. The Cardinals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Newman AA's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Taylor, who went 7-for-13 en route to 18 points and six boards. Brenden Mathey was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Newman AA smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Varsity Opponent came up short against Newman AAA on Saturday and fell 92-80. Varsity Opponent hasn't had much luck with Newman AAA recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
