Baseball Recap: Shasta Comes Up Short

Shasta and Las Plumas squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Shasta had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 6-5. The Wolves' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

Owen Kreider made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Shasta is 4-2 when Kreider posts two or more runs, but 8-11 otherwise.

Shasta now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Las Plumas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Shasta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Las Plumas, they will challenge Pleasant Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
