Basketball Recap: Harper Woods Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Pershing

Harper Woods's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-45 win over the Pershing Doughboys. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pioneers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Doughboys are ranked 173rd).

Harper Woods has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. With the loss, Pershing broke their 16-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-1.

Harper Woods has already played their next matchup (against Roseville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pershing does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
