Baseball Recap: Riverdale's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Riverdale hadn't done well against Caruthers recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cowboys were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Blue Raiders. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cowboys needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

CHARLIE COX tossed a big game, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Riverdale let Xadrian Camacho and EMMANUEL BOJORQUEZ run wild. Camacho went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while BOJORQUEZ went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Camacho is becoming a predictor of Riverdale's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 4-1 (and 7-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Xaidyn Camacho, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Riverdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Riverdale's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-15. As for Caruthers, their record now sits at an identical 11-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Riverdale beat the Blue Raiders by a score of 6-5 on Friday.
