Football Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Southwestern's offense. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of the Vandalia Vandals on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Piasa Birds' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Carter Watson threw for 72 yards on three of 12 attempts. Trenton Brackett was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards. On the ground, Jerion Holoman rushed for 55 yards.

Southwestern is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for Vandalia, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
