Lipscomb Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Christ Presbyterian Academy, who was ranked eighth at the time (Lipscomb Academy was ranked 14th). The Mustangs fell just short of the Lions by a score of 9-8 on Sunday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win was the fourth in a row for Christ Presbyterian Academy, bringing their record up to 29-4-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.75 runs across that stretch. As for Lipscomb Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 22-6-1.
