Baseball Recap: Bayshore Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Bayshore was handed a 14-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southeast Seminoles, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bruins have posted since February 13th.

Jordan Greene spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bayshore is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Yadrian Velez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jashun Judge, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Bayshore's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Southeast, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Bayshore will face off against Bradenton Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bradenton Christian will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Bayshore surely won't give up without a fight. Southeast will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lemon Bay at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th.
