Basketball Recap: Little Elm Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Little Elm had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 47-36 victory over the Flower Mound Jaguars. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Jaguars are ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Little Elm was led to victory by Kensington Candler and Darius Johnson. Candler went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points, while Johnson posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Berry, who scored two points and three blocks.

Little Elm smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Little Elm has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Flower Mound, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

Little Elm didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-55 win against Coppell on the 21st. Flower Mound has also already played their next matchup, a 69-68 victory against Lewisville on the 21st.
