Basketball Recap: Cardinal Spellman Takes a Loss

Cardinal Spellman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 68-38 loss at the hands of the Salesian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the The Pilots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-39 back in January.

Julien Wiggins was his usual excellent self, going 12 of 22 en route to 24 points and eight steals for Salesian. Wiggins' evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kevaughn Mitchell, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points and five assists.

Cardinal Spellman's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Salesian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Cardinal Spellman has already played their next game (against Regis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Salesian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 87-70 defeat against New Rochelle on the 8th.
