            Baseball Recap: Edgerton Bulldogs vs. Edon Bombers        
        
		
        
        
            Edgerton was handed a heart-breaking two-run  defeat in their last  match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Edon  on Saturday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by  a  12-0 margin over the Bombers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played  back in May of 2023.

 Cory Herman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Edgerton got a  massive  performance out of  Noah Weaver, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  stolen base. Those  four  RBI gave  Weaver a new career-high.  Maddox Baker also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
 Edgerton  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Edgerton is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Edon,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 9-8.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgerton will venture away from home to  face off against Stryker  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.92  runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Edon, they are taking a road trip to  take on Hilltop  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
