For the second straight game, Wesson will face off against Loyd Star. The Cobras will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wesson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

Wesson will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Loyd Star, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cobras walked away with a 6-2 win over the Hornets on Tuesday.

Cooper Neely made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Neely was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Levi Lockhart looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Brooks, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Baylor Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Wesson pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Loyd Star, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6.

Wesson's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Cobras have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Loyd Star, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wesson continue to outrun the ball?
