Vermilion Catholic took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Erath, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Friday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 victory the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Vermilion Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Erath, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-12-1.
