Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Gets the Win

Hillcrest posted their closest win since April 2nd on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Woodmont Wildcats 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Monday, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Noah Jarolimek was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Jarolimek wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Sims, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Landon Vessell was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Hillcrest lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Woodmont, they dropped their record down to 8-16 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodmont, they will take on Powdersville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
