Baseball Game Preview: Clint Lions vs. Bowie Bears

The Clint Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Bowie Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clint will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

While Clint's win against Mountain View wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lobos a 2-0 shutout on Friday.

Joe Aranda made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Clint is 7-1-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 9-10 otherwise. Aranda was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Aranda wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mario Pacheco, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Bowie sidestepped Irvin for a 5-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Clint's record is now 16-11-1. As for Bowie, their record now sits at 8-15.

Clint skirted past Bowie 5-4 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
