Preview: Victory Christian Academy Patriots vs. New Manna Christian Wind
Two dominant in Gabriel Thompson and Micah Wagner are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Victory Christian Academy Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the New Manna Christian Wind at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 578 points over their last eight contests.
Even though Southview Christian scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, Victory Christian Academy still came out on top. Victory Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Thompson, who scored 19 points. Thompson is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lloyd Hampton, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, New Manna Christian can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Southview Christian at home to the tune of 91-46. The win was just what New Manna Christian needed coming off of a 71-46 loss in their prior matchup.
Wagner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was A J Goode, who scored 13 points.
Victory Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for New Manna Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Victory Christian Academy and New Manna Christian are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Victory Christian Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 72.2 points per game. However, it's not like New Manna Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 69.1 points per game.
