Baseball Recap: Waterloo Takes a Loss

Waterloo fell victim to Cambridge and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bluejays. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bluejays from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Ryder Jaehnke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Waterloo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Aubart, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Waterloo has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Cambridge, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

While Waterloo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
