            Football Recap: Wayne Christian Eagles vs. Washington County Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            
The Wayne Christian Eagles were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  on Friday as they fell  26-21 to the Washington County Panthers. While the Eagles had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Panthers  7-0.
Despite the loss, Wayne Christian still got an impressive performance from   Jamari Hill, who rushed for 96 yards and one  touchdown on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 56 yards.
 Wayne Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Josiah Mcfarland and  Urban Johnson. Mcfarland got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
  Keitrell Sutton went supernova For Washington County., picking up 106 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs.  Jeremiah Mann was in the mix  as well, providing the Panthers with one score.
This is the second loss in a row for Wayne Christian and  nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Washington County, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
 Wayne Christian has already played their next game,  a  35-20  defeat against Ravenscroft on the 17th. As for Washington County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  46-6  loss against Wilson Prep on the 17th.
