Softball Recap: Fredonia Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Fredonia entered their tilt with Jamestown on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Red & Green a 10-0 shutout. Give the Hillbillies' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Danielle Palisin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Palisin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Anna Delcamp was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Callie Draggett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Fredonia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fredonia's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.1 runs on average over those games. As for Jamestown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
