Baseball Recap: Goodland Comes Up Short

Goodland extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-13. They lost 15-0 to the Wray Eagles. The Cowboys were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Wray, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Wray, who have now won eight games by ten runs or more so far this season.

For Wray's part, Hudson Rockwell made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Rockwell has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

While Goodland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
