Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Vikings vs. Jackson Polar Bears

The Hoover Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Jackson Polar Bears at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hoover beat Canton Central Catholic 40-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Jackson's strategy against Green on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Polar Bears blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 65-36 final score. The Polar Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Jackson's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Hoover came out on top in a nail-biter against Jackson in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, sneaking past 43-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
