Recap: Modesto Panthers vs. Escalon Cougars
The Modesto Panthers lost against the Escalon Cougars back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Modesto had to suffer through a rough 76-32 loss at the hands of Escalon. Modesto was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.
Modesto's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Phillip Gonder, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds, and Izzy Ceniceros who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Ceniceros scored a full 37.5% of Modesto's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Modesto now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Escalon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Modesto will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Davis at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. As for Escalon, they will square off against Orestimba at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Orestimba focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
