League recap: Wilson Hall tops Laurence Manning Academy to extend winning streak

Adding to the longest winning streak in SCISA AAA this week, Wilson Hall beat Laurence Manning Academy 27-20. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.

Wilson Hall was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Swampcats. Bruce Lane's team came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.

Steven Duncan put up the best numbers through the air as Porter-Gaud beat Pinewood Prep. He finished with 21 completions for 271 yards and 1 touchdown. Duncan's favorite target this week was Trey Lowe, who caught 4 passes for 113 yards.

6-foot-5 quarterback Duncan of the Cyclones is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,811. He has also thrown 26 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Derek Andrews. The Orangeburg Prep star has 50 catches for 1,189 yards.

Going into this week's contest against Augusta Christian, Orangeburg Prep's Marion McCurry needs 85 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 20 touchdowns this year, McCurry has thrown for 1,915 yards with 6 interceptions.

At the moment, the Indians are in second, while the Lions are in seventh.

Orangeburg Prep took down Augusta Christian 50-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
