Junior Player of the Year: Camryn YbarraMission Viejo (Calif.)

Facing some of the best pitching in the country, Ybarra led the Diablos in batting average (.514), home runs (12), hits (54), on-base percentage (.617) and runs scored (33). Ybarra has been named the Orange County Register's Orange County Softball POY. She has committed to Oregon State.

Junior All-American Team

P - Grace Baalman, Calhoun (Hardin, Ill.)
Baalman, who struck out 39 batters in a 17-inning 2A state semifinal game, pitched Calhoun to its second-straight state title. She finished the season with a nation-leading 589 strikeouts in 267 innings and compiled a 0.21 ERA to go with her 35-2 record. She concluded the season with 260 strikeouts in her final 102 innings. In addition to her 39-strikeout effort, Baalman recorded 30 and 26 in other postseason games. The Kentucky commit also hit 18 home runs and batted over .500.

P - Meghan Beaubien, St. Mary Catholic Central (Monroe, Mich.)
Beaubien led the Kestrels to their second-straight state 3A title, pitching perfect games in the state semifinal and championship games. The Michigan commit was 25-1 on the season with 12 shutouts and 394 strikeouts in 187 inning. She allowed just 10 earned runs, 55 base hits and 16 walks. Beaubien also batted .485 with 50 base hits.

P - Holly Azevedo, Pioneer (San Jose, Calif.)
A future UCLA Bruin, Azevedo went 25-3 with a 0.18 ERA, 334 strikeouts in 191 innings and pitched 17 shutouts. She also batted .482 with 10 extra-base hits. Azevedo, who pitched four no-hitters, has allowed just six earned runs in her last two seasons. Each of her three 2016 losses were by one run.

P - Analise De La Roca, Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro, Calif.)
The Arizona State commit set a record for the CIF-Los Angeles City Section with 408 strikeouts, finishing 26-4 with a 0.43 ERA, 20 shutouts, five no-hitters and three perfect games. She allowed only 19 runs (12 earned) and 31 walks in 197 innings. De La Roca batted .521 with four home runs, 49 hits, 16 doubles and 37 RBIs.

P - Lauren Mathis, West Orange (Winter Garden, Fla.)

The Georgia commit led her team to the Class 9A state title with a 25-1 record while posting a 0.15 ERA. Named Miss Florida Softball, Mathis struck out 272 batters in 138 innings while allowing just three earned runs and 36 hits. She dominated her opponents in the state Final Four, allowing only five hits, no earned runs and striking out 26 batters in 13 innings pitched.



P - Mary Haff, Lake Region (Eagle Lake, Fla.)
The Arkansas commit went 20-2 with a 0.32 ERA and 15 shutouts with 258 strikeouts in 153 innings in leading the Thunder to the state title game.

P - Abigail Abramson, Cheshire (Conn.)
In winning 27 games, Abramson struck out 326 batters in 183 innings with an ERA of 0.61 as Cheshire won the state LL title and finished the season 27-0. She also batted .493 with 11 home runs, 36 hits, 32 RBIs and 27 walks.

P - Kiara Oliver, North Kingstown (R.I.)
Rhode Island's Gatorade State Player of the Year dominated in the circle for the state champion Skippers. The University of Massachusetts commit went 22-0 with 279 strikeouts — nearly two per inning — and posted a 0.17 ERA. Oliver allowed just 36 hits and five earned runs while helping herself at the plate with a team-high .473 batting average.

P - Maddie McMahon, Middletown South (N.J.)
The Siena commit won 27 games, struck out 272 batters and recorded a 1.26 ERA as the Eagles reached a second-consecutive state Group 3 final.

P - Jordan Dail, Brookville (Lynchburg, Va.)
The lefty recorded 107 of her 358 strikeouts (in 162 innings) during Brookville's postseason. She pitched nine no-hitters, including a pair of 20-strikeout games. The Region 3A West and Conference 30 Player of the Year was 23-3 with a 0.47 ERA. She has committed to Virginia Tech.

P - Taylor Dockins, Norco (Calif.)
Dockins won 26 games to lead Norco to the CIF-Southern Section D-1 title. She has a career record of 75-18 at Norco with an ERA of 1.44. She also is batting .354.



C - Danielle Romanello, Canterbury (St. Petersburg, Fla.)
The future Florida Gator was named Miracle Sports 2A Player of the Year after hitting .597 with 31 RBIs in 25 games. As a starter in five varsity seasons, she has 185 base hits and is hitting .520.

C - Hannah Reinhold, Oakridge (Muskegon, Mich.)
Reinhold, who had a .500 batting average with 58 RBIs, hit six home runs and stole 24 bases. She also threw out 18 of 21 runners attempting to steal and picked off eight others. Reinhold also was all-state in basketball last winter.

C - Mia Davidson, Orange (Hillsborough, N.C.)
The Mississippi State commit led the Panthers (23-4) to the third round of the Class 3A state playoffs when she compiled a .740 batting average with 18 home runs, 49 RBIs and 57 runs. A three-time all-state honoree, Davidson posted an on-base percentage of .851 and a slugging percentage of 2.060. She walked (most were intentional) 44 times this season.

C - Jo Alo, Campbell (Ewa Beach, Hawaii)
Hawaii's Gatorade State POY led the Sabers (18-1) to the D-1 state title as she batted .612 with eight home runs, 30 RBIs and a 1.726 OPS. She has verbally committed to Cal.

C - Shelby Gayre, D'Hanis (Texas)
In only 80 at-bats, Gayre drove in 79 runs, scored 53 times and hit 18 home runs. She had at least one base hit in each of the Cowboys' 29 games and drove in at least one run in 26 games. Gayre batted .725 and has committed to Kansas.

IF - Briana Perez, Alhambra (Martinez, Calif.)
The UCLA commit hit .613 and drove in 40 runs with 18 extra-base hits, 21 steals, 46 hits and 56 runs scored as Alhambra won the North Coast Section D2 title.



IF - Karlee Sparacino, Alhambra (Martinez, Calif.)
The Oregon commit hit .620 with seven homers and 57 RBIs as Alhambra won the North Coast Section D-2 title.

IF - Hayley Busby, O'Connor (Phoenix)
Busby hit .528 with 67 hits, 43 runs scored, 26 doubles, 14 home runs and 70 RBIs on O'Connor's 29-win team. She was the state Gatorade State POY and has committed to Virginia.

IF - Mary Katherine Tedder, Spain Park (Hoover, Ala.)
The Texas commit set a school record with 20 home runs and batted .457 with 74 hits, five triples, 74 RBIs and 31 walks.

IF - MacKenzie Nutt, Sparkman (Harvest, Ala.)
The Auburn commit led Sparkman to the state 7A title with a team-best 12 home runs, 76 RBIs and 17 doubles while batting .444 with 63 runs and 21 walks. She also stole 18 bases.

IF - Taylon Snow, Chino Hills (Calif.)
Snow was honored as all-CIF Southern Section, all-Inland Valley and first team all-league for a third time. The Auburn commit batted .438 (46-for-105) with 10 doubles, three triples, nine home runs and 37 RBIs with a slugging percentage of .847.

IF - Sammie Stefan, Keystone (La Grange, Ohio)
The future Maryland Terrapin was 55-for-93 at the plate (.591 average) with 60 RBIs and 47 runs scored. She set the school record for home runs (13) and RBIs.



IF - Camryn WoodallKeller (Texas)
The Utah pledge hit .504 for the Class 6A state champions. She finished the season with 13 doubles and nine triples and had 59 hits, 42 runs and 35 RBIs in 39 games.

IF - Haley Cashwell, Cape Fear (Fayetteville, N.C.)
Cashwell finished the season with a .534 batting average, 63 hits and 58 runs as the Colts finished runner-up in the state's Class 4A and had a 29-3 record. She has committed to UNC-Wilmington.

OF - Kendall Beth Sides, Sumiton Christian (Ala.)
The Alabama commit turned in another spectacular season with 101 base hits, 104 runs scored and 82 stolen bases as Sumiton Christian won 57 games and the state 2A title. Named the State 2A Player of the Year and to the All-Alabama Super Softball Team, she has scored 293 times and stolen 369 bases -- both national records. And she has one season remaining.

OF - Andrea Howard, La Cueva (Albuquerque, N.M.)
Howard hit 18 homers, had a .564 batting average with 45 RBIs and scored 54 runs as the Bears reached the state semifinals.

OF - Sammy Fabian, Glendale (Calif.)
Though her 61-game hitting streak came to an end, the UC Santa Barbara recruit helped Glendale tie for second place in the Pacific League. The all-CIFSS performer hit .656 (42-for-64) with 40 runs, 22 RBIs, 10 doubles, four triples, three homers and 18 stolen bases.

UTIL - Maya Kipfmiller, Midland (Mich.)
The Boston College commit finished the season with a 25-5 record and a 0.68 ERA, striking out 229 batters in 174 innings. She hurled 27 complete games (13 shutouts). She also finished with a batting average of .664.



UTIL - Autumn Moffat, Eagle (Idaho)
Moffat is a two-time SIC Pitcher of the Year. The BYU signee posted a 0.81 ERA with 102 strikeouts, seven shutouts and four no-hitters as Eagle went 29-0 and was named MaxPreps' mythical national champion. She also batted .515 and slugged .856 with 50 hits, 14 doubles, 36 RBIs and 28 runs scored. 

UTIL - Kelsey Oh, Mount St. Dominic Academy (Caldwell, N.J.)
Completing all 25 games she started, Oh recorded a 21-4 record with a 0.82 ERA and 301 strikeouts in 161 innings. The state's Gatorade winner, Oh helped at the plate with a .441 average, five doubles, 18 RBIs, 21 runs and a .510 on-base percentage.

UTIL - Alexis Holloway, Crown Point (Ind.)
A first-team all-state selection and Notre Dame commit, Holloway went 13-0 with a 0.38 ERA, allowing 33 hits with 176 strikeouts in 92 innings. She also hit .398 with 16 extra-base hits and 23 RBIs.

Sophomore All-American Team

Sophomore Player of the Year: Montana Fouts, East Carter (Grayson, Ky.)

If there was a more dominant pitcher anywhere, we didn't know about her. The Alabama commit led the Raiders to a deep playoff run and a 37-2 record as she recorded a 33-2 mark with 479 strikeouts in 221 innings. She had a 0.48 ERA, allowed just 42 hits and pitched 24 shutouts with a nation-leading 14 no-hitters. Fouts, who was named the Gatorade State POY winner and State 2A POY, pitched nine perfect games. She also batted .446 with six homers and 50 RBIs. She was the lone underclassman who was a finalist for National Player of the Year.

P - Danielle Williams, Amador Valley (Pleasanton, Calif.)
The Missouri commit led the Dons to a deep playoff run by batting .456, but more importantly was her pitching, where she won 21 games and struck out 245 batters in 144 innings with a 0.53 ERA. She allowed just 11 runs and 46 base hits (only one home run).

P - Kelly Nelson, Norton (Mass.)
Nelson recorded 336 strikeouts in 131 innings and finished with a 0.26 ERA. She struck out double digits in every game and 10 times over 15. She pitched three no-hitters and eight one-hitters. Nelson batted .420 with 26 RBIs for state-runner up Norton.

P - Brooke Vestal, Canyon (New Braunfels, Texas)
Committed to Oklahoma, Vestal was all-state and the District 29-4A MVP. She was 25-8 with a 1.73 ERA and had 346 strikeouts in 211 innings with three no-hitters during the playoffs, including in back-to-back games. She batted .432 with 10 home runs, 16 doubles and 41 RBIs.

P - Bella Roy, Fort Mill (S.C.)
Roy struck out 276 of the 522 batters she faced and pitched 17 complete games en route to a 19-2 record and a 0.42 earned run average. She also pitched nine shutouts and only walked 26 batters. Opponents managed just nine earned runs in 149 innings of work.

P - Calista Phippen, Ichabod Crane (Valatie, N.Y.)
Phippen led the Riders to a second-straight Section II Class B title when she went 23-3 with 0.55 ERA and 341 strikeouts over 179 innings, plus she batted .355 with two home runs and 25 RBIs.

P - Camryn Dolby, Woodgrove (Purcellville, Va.)
Dolby led Woodgrove to a 24-1 record and the state 4A title when she recorded 313 strikeouts in 130 innings. She won 23 games.



P - Rivers Andrews, Cedar Ridge (Hillsborough, N.C.)
Committed to UNC-Wilmington, Andrews won just 15 games, but seven were no-hitters and she allowed only 37 hits on the season in 112 innings. She had 243 strikeouts and a 0.37 ERA. She also batted .438 with 19 RBIs in 20 games.

P - Madison Lindsey, Kingwood (Texas)
Lindsey was 29-6 for the 31-8 Mustangs. She had a 1.21 ERA and struck out 248 in 190 innings. She has committed to Baylor.

P - Saidi Castillo, Santa Gertrudis Academy (Kingsville, Texas)
Castillo led the Lions back to the state tournament, compiling 344 strikeouts and a 0.73 ERA with 23 shutouts. She was the District 31-3A MVP, and also earned a spot on the Class 3A All-State Tournament Team.

P - Nic Conway, Catalina Foothills (Tucson, Ariz.)
Conway led Catalina Foothills to its first softball state championship by posting a 23-6 record with a 1.06 ERA and struck out 302 batters. She also had a .430 batting average and 49 hits to go along with 30 RBIs, nine doubles and five triples.

C - Terra McGowan, Mission Viejo (Calif.)
The Arizona State commit batted .402 with 10 home runs, nine doubles, one triple, 24 runs and 33 RBIs. But her defensive skills are her best asset.

C - Tylar Vernon, Pangburn (Ark.)
In only 39 games, Vernon drove in 103 runs with 18 homers, 30 doubles, six triples and a .701 batting average (82 hits). She also scored 63 runs and slugged 1.512 with only one strikeout. She had a base hit in 37 games and drove in a run in 34. In her final 13 games of the season, she homered eight times and drove in 48 runs.



C - Riley Cantrell, Berkner (Richardson, Texas)
The Oklahoma State pledge hit .687 with 15 homers, 58 RBIs, 48 runs and 19 steals in leading Berkner to 19 wins. She had 30 extra-base hits in 25 games.

C - Allysa Shipman, Valencia (Calif.)
The Tennessee recruit batted .447 with seven homers, 36 RBIs, 31 runs scored, 13 doubles and two triples for the league-champion Vikings. She also had a 1.387 OPS and was named all-CIFSS D-1.

IF - Nikki Cuchran, Montini (Lombard, Ill.)
In just two varsity seasons, Cuchran has produced eye-popping stats: 126 hits, 31 doubles, four triples, 24 home runs, 46 walks, 105 RBIs and a batting average of .586. The two-time all-state selection batted .604 in 2016.

IF - Lacey Fincher, Faith Academy (Mobile, Ala.)
The Georgia commit led Faith Academy with 18 homers, 57 RBIs, .460 average, 45 runs and 26 walks.

IF - Hannah Bourgeois, Pangburn (Ark.)
Bourgeois helped lead Pangburn to a 33-6 season by scoring 63 runs, collecting 77 hits, driving in 31 runs and stealing 69 bases.

IF - Janae Ruiz, Ray (Kearny, Ariz.)
Ruiz led Ray to the state small school title by putting up major numbers: a .646 average, 58 runs, 64 hits and 32 steals.



IF - Maggie Buckholz, Silverton (Ore.)
Buckholz batted .624 with .683 on-base and .917 slugging percentages. She hit 15 doubles, two triples, two home runs, stole 24 bases, had 23 RBIs, scored 21 runs and had a .958 fielding percentage.

IF - Noemi Farfan, Calvary Christian Academy (Chula Vista, Calif.)
You want numbers? Farfan has them: 100 RBIs, .747 average, 43 runs, 59 hits, 44 extra-base hits (16 doubles, 16 triples, 12 homers) and 38 stolen bases. She also pitched: 18-4 record with a 2.65 ERA and 259 strikeouts in 126 innings.

IF - Olivia Aycock, Westminster Christian (Huntsville, Ala.)
Aycock stole 53 bases, scored 60 runs and had 92 base hits as Westminster Christian won 45 games. Aycock also had a .962 fielding percentage to go along with hitting .514.

IF - Mya Stevenson, Poteet (Mesquite, Texas)
Despite being walked 30 times, the Virginia recruit led the Dallas area in home runs with 17 (one home run every two games). Stevenson hit .553, had a .681 on-base percentage and a 1.329 slugging percentage. She scored 50 runs and had 43 RBIs. As a pitcher, she was 14-6 with a 1.80 ERA and 176 strikeouts in 116 innings.

IF - Loryn Sherwood, Stewarts Creek (Smyrna, Tenn.)
Sherwood hit .449 with 22 home runs, nine doubles and 61 RBIs as SCHS won 33 games.

IF - Maeve Nelson, Oak Park-River Forest (Oak Park, Ill.)
The Northwestern commit batted .492, homered 10 times and scored 49 runs as the Huskies (37-2) set a school record for wins. They won their final 27 games and a state title.



OF - Lexie Blair, West Orange (Winter Garden, Fla.)
Blair batted .567 with 51 hits and drove in 44 runs while scoring 42 as West Orange went 30-1 and won the state 9A title. She stole 19 bases and had 21 extra-base hits.

OF - Kayla Boseman, Ooltewah (Tenn.)
The Maxpreps National Freshman of the Year in 2015, Boseman led the Owls to a 41-6 season as she hit .589 and drove in 89 (almost two runs per game). She had 21 homers and 17 doubles. In the circle, she was 19-4 with a 2.04 ERA and had 194 strikeouts in 137 innings. Committed to Mississippi, she drove in two or more runs in a game 25 times.

OF - Rachel Hammons, Bourgade Catholic (Phoenix)
There were big numbers for this first team all-state honoree: 72 hits, .699 average, 58 runs, 50 stolen bases and a .731 on-base percentage.

UTIL - Hannah James, East Jessamine (Nicholasville, Ky.)
In compiling 37 wins, recording 402 strikeouts (258 innings) and posting a 1.36 ERA, James was one of the state's top pitchers. But offensively, she had a .554 average, 17 homers, 55 RBIs, 20 doubles and had 77 hits in 43 games.

UTIL - Sydney Nester, Carroll County (Hillsville, Va.)
Nester led the Cavaliers to a 22-1 record and a berth in the Class 4A West Regional Tournament. The Gatorade State Player of the Year finished with an 18-1 record and a 0.32 ERA. She struck out 263 batters in 122 innings, allowing just 48 hits and issuing only 14 walks. She batted .552 with 12 doubles, 29 RBIs, a .607 on-base percentage and an .851 slugging percentage.

UTIL - Taylor Roby, Bullitt East (Mt. Washington, Ky.) 
Roby, who was chosen the Metro Louisville Player of the Year by the Courier-Journal, posted a 23-5 won-loss record with a 1.15 ERA and had 217 strikeouts in 176 innings. She also batted .590 with 14 home runs and 50 RBIs. She has committed to Louisville.

Freshman Player of the Year: Alynah Torres, Cactus (Glendale, Ariz.)
An Arizona State commit, Torres batted .590 with 69 hits, 57 runs scored, 63 RBI, 19 doubles and 14 home runs. She also had a .933 fielding percentage at shortstop and catcher for the D2 State runner-up team.

P - Sydney Supple, Oshkosh North (Wis.)
Supple finished 18-2 with a 0.79 ERA and 176 strikeouts in 124 innings. The Northwestern commit batted .595 on the season with six home runs, including one in her first varsity at bat.

P - Abby Swaney Springville (Ala.)
Swaney led her team to the state 5A title when she went 25-6 with a 0.79 ERA, and had 224 strikeouts in 177 innings. She was named the State 5A Pitcher of the Year. A three-time all-state selection, she has committed to Samford.

P - Ashley Hitchcock, Eastwood (Pemberville, Ohio)
Hitchcock made the most of her first high school season, striking out 280 in 145 innings and winning 22 of 23 games. Her 0.92 ERA enabled her to be named All-Press All-Area Softball. She pitched 14 shutouts and her lone loss was 2-1.



P - Aspen Wesley, Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, Miss.)
Wesley led the Rockets to a 27-1 record and a fourth-consecutive Class 5A state championship. Wesley did not allow an earned run in eight state tournament games, including a pair of shutouts in a two-game finals sweep of West Harrison. A three-time first team all-state selection, Wesley finished with a 24-1 record, posting a 0.23 ERA and 294 strikeouts in 155 innings. She also batted .338.

P - Makenzie Stiles, Deposit (N.Y.)
Stiles posted a 22-1 record with a 0.60 ERA, 299 strikeouts and 25 walks in 152 innings. She threw six no-hitters, including four perfect games. Stiles repeated as State Co-Player of the Year in Class D.

P - Brooke Sudduth, Cascade (Wartrace, Tenn.)
Sudduth led the Champions with 25 wins, 315 strikeouts and four no-hitters in 212 innings. She had 26 complete games and in one game had 20 strikeouts. She also batted .411 and had a team-high 27 RBIs.

P - Kristin Cocke, Safford (Ariz.)
Cocke went 19-9 with 324 strikeouts in 176 innings. She had 26 complete games and struck out 25 in a 13-inning win over then-No. 1 Payson. She also batted .435.

P - Ashley Blessin, Plant City (Fla.)
With 18 wins, a 1.13 ERA and 204 strikeouts in 136 innings, Blessin led the Raiders to a deep playoff run.

P - Ashley Daugherty, Templeton (Calif.)
Daugherty won only 15 games (losing five), but had a 0.44 ERA and struck out 293 batters in 143 innings. Opponents batted .099 against her. She had 10 shutouts and struck out 10 or more in a game 20 times with a season-high 20 twice. She also batted .443 with 27 RBIs and 16 extra-base hits.



C - Julia Cottrill, Central (Andover, Kan.)
Committed to Florida, Cottrill batted .511 with 38 RBIs, seven home runs, 35 hits, 27 runs and a 1.114 slugging percentage.

C - Kinzie Hansen, Norco (Calif.)
Hansen batted .426 with seven home runs and a team-high 37 RBIs. The Oklahoma commit also drew 18 walks during Norco's CIF-SS D-1 title season.

C - Maddie Recker, Eastwood (Pemberville, Ohio)
Recker bated .471 with 41 RBIs and scored 24 runs in being named to the All-Press All-Area Softball Team.

IF - Morgan DeBord, Glencoe (Hillsboro, Ore.)
Debord, who has been clocked at 2.5 seconds from home to first, led Glencoe to the state 6A title game when she batted .441 and stole 35 bases in 30 games.

IF - Isabel Rocco, Jurupa Hills (Fontana, Calif.)
Rocco led Jurupa Hills regulars with a .586 average, as well as belting 13 home runs (including two grand slams) and had 26 total extra-base hits. She had 56 RBIs and 42 runs scored and ended the season with a 15-game hitting streak (including 14 multi-hit games) during which she batted .672 with 41 RBIs.

IF – TJ Webster, Sparkman (Harvest, Ala.)
Webster posted team bests with a .451 average, 58 steals, 65 runs and 24 walks as Sparkman went 34-7 and won the state 7A title.



IF - Vivian Ponn, Fort Myers (Fla.)
Ponn hit at .528 with nine home runs and 47 RBIs as Fort Myers posted a 20-7 overall record.

IF - Candance Yingling, Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.)
Yingling led the tough Southwestern League in homers, batting average, RBIs and runs (.547, 10 homers, 24 RBIs and 23 runs).

IF - Caitlyn Covington, Shadow Ridge (Las Vegas)
Covington batted .560 with 56 hits and accounted for 91 runs (47 RBIs) as Shadow Ridge reached the state semifinals.

IF - Kasey Widmyer, Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.)
Byrnes won 30 games as Widmyer batted .542 with 26 doubles and drove in 55 runs. She also was 13-2 in the circle with a 0.76 ERA.

IF - Audrey LeClair, Phoenix Country Day (Paradise Valley, Ariz.)
LeClair put up big numbers for a freshman: .707 batting average, 58 hits (22 games), 60 RBIs and 62 runs scored, as the Eagles went 17-7. She had 17 multi-hit games and in her final 13 games, she batted .800.

IF - Julia Jimenez, Etiwanda (Calif.)
Committed to Michigan, Jimenez hit .427 (44-for-103) with 11 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 36 runs scored and 47 RBIs in 31 games. She had multiple hits in 15 games. She hit the first pitch she saw this season for a home run.



IF - Kayman Courtney, Beckville (Texas)
Courtney led the Bearcats to a 34-5 season that ended in the state 2A semifinals. Her numbers were big: .517 batting average, 67 runs, 62 hits, 61 RBIs, 35 extra-base hits and a dozen homers. She also stole 16 bases.

OF - Amanda DesarioKeller (Texas)
The freshman led 6A state champion Keller in hits (64) and stolen bases (38). Both totals rank second in school history, behind the 67 hits and 47 steals recorded by Gatorade National Player of the Year Kirsten Shortridge in 2006. Desario hit .492, tied for the team lead in runs scored (46) and drove in 31 runs.

OF - Grace Hosman, Millennium (Tracy, Calif.)
Hosman led the Falcons to a 26-2 season and a deep playoff run when she hit .649, scoring 65 times and driving in 25. She also had 40 stolen bases.

OF - Lauren Nelligan, Abington (Mass.)
Nelligan finished her rookie season with the best batting average in the state at .817 and had a stretch of 22 hits in 22 straight at-bats. She led Abington to a D-2 South Sectional championship.

OF - Maddie Webber, King's Academy (Seymour, Tenn.)
The right fielder batted .486 with eight home runs and 65 RBIs as King's Academy finished 41-6.

UTIL - Shaylee Ackerman, Desert Ridge (Mesa, Ariz.)
A Frosh POY finalist, Ackerman hit 13 home runs and drove in 48 teammates while hitting .475. She also struck out 127 batters in 101 innings and won 13 games.



UTIL - Kaylin Watkins, Bishop Carroll (Wichita, Kan.)
A Frosh POY finalist, Watkins was 12-0 for Bishop Carroll with a 0.55 ERA, giving up four earned runs and striking out 50. She had a .949 fielding percentage and hit .612 with 15 doubles and 41 hits.

UTIL - Janell Brown, View Park (Los Angeles)
Brown led View Park to the Los Angeles City Section D4 title and 17 straight wins to end the season with a .660 batting average, 28 runs, 31 RBIs and 31 stolen bases to go with a 10-1 pitching record and a 1.52 ERA. In just 92 innings, she struck out 226 batters, an average of 2.5 per inning. The only game in which she did not strike out as many as 11 was the first game of the season. In her final seven games, she had 21 base hits and 21 RBIs and struck out 98 batters in 42 innings.
