Softball Game Preview: Whitehall Norse vs. Pepin/Alma

Whitehall is 0-5 against Pepin/Alma since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Norse will welcome Pepin/Alma at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Whitehall fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Osseo-Fairchild on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 10-7 to the Thunder. Norse fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Thunder since on Thursday.

Carson Coburn and Taylor Johnson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Coburn went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Johnson went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That double was Coburn's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlow Foss, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pepin/Alma came up short against Boyceville on Monday, falling 8-2. Pepin/Alma has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Whitehall's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pepin/Alma, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
