Basketball Recap: Cohen Mcdonald's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clay County Christian Academy over Tabernacle

After flying high against Valley Fellowship Christian Academy last Friday, Clay County Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Clay County Christian Academy Eagles took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tabernacle Torches on Thursday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Torches earlier this season, when they won 46-35.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cohen McDonald, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Bryan Bacak, who posted six points in addition to 11 rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Clay County Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Clay County Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Tabernacle, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-15 record.

Clay County Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Valley Fellowship Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tabernacle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-39 defeat against Cornerstone Christian on the 31st.
