Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Tri-Valley

Tri-Valley strolled into their game on Monday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the El Paso-Gridley Titans with a sharp 15-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Maren Milton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Whittaker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

Milton wasn't the only one making solid contact: Tri-Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Tri-Valley's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for El Paso-Gridley, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Tri-Valley will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Monticello at 4:30 p.m. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sages have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for El Paso-Gridley, they will face off against Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
