Baseball Recap: Italy Comes Up Short

Italy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Itasca Wampus Cats, falling 11-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Gladiators couldn't push the score so high this time.

Italy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Itasca, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Italy will square off against Covington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Itasca, they will take on Hillsboro in a tournament on Saturday.
