Basketball Recap: Brayden Healey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Central Falls

With a playoff win on the line, Toll Gate rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-43 victory over the Central Falls Warriors. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Toll Gate's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Healey, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Healey is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last seven games he's played. Damola Oremosu was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards.

Toll Gate smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Defeat or not, Central Falls got some senior leadership from Leandro Rojas Vargas and Jamilson De Pina Almeida. Rojas Vargas went 8-for-16 on his way to 20 points, while De Pina Almeida dropped a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds. That was a full 39.5% of Central Falls' points, marking the third time in a row De Pina Almeida has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Toll Gate's record now sits at 17-6. As for Central Falls, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-11.

Coming up, Toll Gate will face off against Times Squared Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Toll Gate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season. Central Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
