Volleyball Recap: Excelsior Springs Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Excelsior Springs was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Raytown South on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Smithville Warriors on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Excelsior Springs took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-13, 25-15.

Jordin Price paced Excelsior Springs' offense, picking up six kills. Price got some help from Lillah Shue and her nine assists. Finally, Bayli Crowley kept Excelsior Springs' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Excelsior Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 6-12-1. As for Smithville, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Coming up, Excelsior Springs will head out to take on St. Pius X at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Smithville, they will welcome Winnetonka at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
