Fort Morgan waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Resurrection Christian Cougars.

Cooper Chisum made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fort Morgan is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Chisum was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Chisum wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Angel Lopez, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Fort Morgan now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Resurrection Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Coming up, Fort Morgan will host Liberty Common at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Resurrection Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Berthoud at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
