Tooele extended their postseason success on Saturday against Snow Canyon. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Tooele got a great performance from Jaelyn Woods as she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Woods has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Culley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Nelson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Tooele always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snow Canyon only posted an OBP of .320.
The win made it two in a row for Tooele and bumps their season record up to 12-13. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Snow Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.
