Football Recap: Bryan Bears vs. Kearney Bearcats
Bryan had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it seven. They took a blow against the Kearney Bearcats, falling 42-7. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jamarcus Rivers, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
As for Kearney, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kearney can attribute much of their success to Levi Pofahl, who rushed for 30 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Pofahl posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September.
Bryan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kearney, they will be playing at home against Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Discoverers' defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so the Bearcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
