Basketball Game Preview: Wake Prep Academy Guardians vs. East Wake Academy Eagles

The Wake Prep Academy Guardians will take on the East Wake Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wake Prep Academy has eight straight wins, East Wake Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Wake Prep Academy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Research Triangle: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Wake Prep Academy blew Research Triangle out of the water with a 65-16 final score. The Guardians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, East Wake Academy took a blow against Wake Prep Academy on Monday, falling 76-32.

Wake Prep Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for East Wake Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
