Volleyball Recap: Cheshire Falls Short Against Ranked Glastonbury

Cheshire faced Glastonbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Rams fell just short of the Guardians by a score of 3-2.

While Cheshire ultimately came up short, they really made Glastonbury work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-20, 27-29, 22-25, 15-13.

Cheshire's offense was headlined by Carter Hayes and Jacob D'Addona, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Gordon Johns and his 27 assists. Finally, Thomas Superchi kept Cheshire's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Cheshire's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Glastonbury, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Cheshire has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Newtown on the 2nd. As for Glastonbury, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against East Hartford on the 2nd.
