Softball Game Preview: Greenville Comets vs. North Mac Panthers

The Greenville Comets will venture away from home to face off against the North Mac Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. North Mac took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Greenville, who comes in off a win.

Greenville came out on top against Collinsville on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Comets never let the Kahoks get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Comets have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, North Mac fell victim to Sangamon Valley/Tri-City and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-0 to the Storm, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Storm recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Greenville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for North Mac, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
