Softball Recap: Nardin Academy Comes Up Short

Nardin Academy was the 11-1 winner over Nichols when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gators took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Monday.

Madison Scarpace made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Scarpace is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Madeline Dehn, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Nardin Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Nichols, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Nardin Academy will square off against Mount St. Mary Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Nichols, they will face off against Bishop Kearney at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
