Baseball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson fell victim to Columbus Grove and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Rahrig, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Jefferson's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Columbus Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Vikings have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Columbus Grove, they are taking a road trip to challenge Patrick Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
