Volleyball Recap: Copper Basin Cougars vs. Lookout Valley Yellowjackets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, Copper Basin was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Lookout Valley Yellowjackets 3-0. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellowjackets, too.
A big factor in the win was Copper Basin's feisty defense: they held Lookout Valley to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-17.
Copper Basin found their leader in underclassman Addison Hyatt, who had 20 digs. Hyatt is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Copper Basin was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in three consecutive contests.
Copper Basin's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Lookout Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
