Basketball Recap: Falcon Beats the Classical Academy for Their Third Straight Win

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Falcon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 65-59 win over The Classical Academy Titans. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Falcon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Cox, who went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Bertholf, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Ky Walker and Burk Dorny certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Walker earned 18 points and three steals, while Dorny went 5 of 12 on his way to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Dorny a new career-high. Carter Miller was another key player, putting up three points in addition to four steals and three blocks.

Falcon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for The Classical Academy, they moved to 9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Falcon and The Classical Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. Falcon (ranked 50th) will meet Pueblo County (ranked 208th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Falcon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season. Similarly, The Classical Academy will square off against Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st up 282 places (43 vs. 325).
