Basketball Recap: Bernards' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bernards entered their tilt with Dayton on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over the Dayton Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Mountaineers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Sherman, who went 7-for-13 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nicky Perez, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 11 points.

Bernards' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Dayton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bernards will head out to face off against Hillsborough at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dayton, they will face off against Mountain Lakes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
