Baseball Recap: Cedar Gets the Win

Cedar's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Spanish Fork Dons 6-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Reds also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2016.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Boyer, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Krew Giles, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Boyer wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Cedar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. Cedar is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cedar now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Cedar will square off against Cedar Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spanish Fork, they will take on Union in a tournament on Friday. Union will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Spanish Fork surely won't give up without a fight.
