Softball Recap: Huntland Hornets vs. South Pittsburg Pirates
Huntland proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 12) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the South Pittsburg Pirates. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Huntland also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Hadley Gardner was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lily Jackson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
On South Pittsburg's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelstin Burnette, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
