Baseball Recap: Grafton Black Hawks vs. Homestead Highlanders
While Grafton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Homestead Highlanders with a sharp 11-1 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Black Hawks, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Elijah Banaag spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits.

At the plate, Will Heinz was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Plier, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Grafton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Homestead only posted an OBP of .208.
The win made it two in a row for Grafton and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Homestead, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
