Recap: Coronado Dons vs. Dysart Demons

The Coronado Dons struggled with assists on Monday (the Dysart Demons had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Coronado was dealt a 74-10 loss at the hands of Dysart. Coronado has not had much luck with Dysart recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Coronado's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ariel Douglas, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.

Jeanny Herrera was nothing short of spectacular for Dysart: she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Herrera has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Torah Dial, who scored 14 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.

Coronado dropped their record down to 6-16 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.3 points per game. As for Dysart, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

Coronado will be playing at home against Cortez at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Coronado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 57 on Monday. As for Dysart, they will head out on the road to challenge Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dysart is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
