Football Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Eagles vs. West Park Panthers + How To Watch

The Pleasant Grove Eagles will square off against the West Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Pleasant Grove will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up ten points last Friday, then bounced right back against Laguna Creek on Thursday. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 31-28. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three points.

Hekili Hernandez had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 188 yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pleasant Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 282 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 225 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, West Park was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 18-14 to Woodcreek. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 69th).

Pleasant Grove will have to contain Declan Shindelbower as he made an impact in West Park's last game. He rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown. Ty'neal Martin also helped out as he racked up 106 rushing yards.

Pleasant Grove's record is now 7-3. As for West Park, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Pleasant Grove couldn't quite get it done against West Park in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 as they fell 35-24. Thankfully for the Eagles, Westin Wade (who rushed for 121 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
