Softball Recap: Elmwood Triumphs

Elmwood won the last time they faced Arcadia and things went their way on Friday too. The Royals walked away with a 4-1 win over the Redskins. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Royals.

Allyie Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Elmwood's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Campbell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another was Addi Hoffman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The win got Elmwood back to even at 4-4. As for Arcadia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Elmwood will be playing at home against Ada at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arcadia, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Patrick Henry at 10:00 a.m. The Patriots will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Redskins surely won't give up without a fight.
