Preview: Chamblee Bulldogs vs. Decatur Bulldogs
The Chamblee Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Decatur Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Chamblee suffered their biggest defeat since November 10, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 59-33 defeat at the hands of Arabia Mountain. While losing is never fun, Chamblee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Arabia Mountain is ranked 92nd).
Alana Azeta put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 42.4% of Chamblee's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brianna Wood was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Decatur was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Saturday as they fell 37-33 to Carver. Decatur has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chamblee's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5. As for Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Chamblee didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Decatur in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. Will Chamblee repeat their success, or does Decatur have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
